Due to many requests from its members to conduct the 4-Stroke Outboard Systems and Troubleshooting workshop at the NMSE '05 trade show and convention, the AMTECH education committee has decided to add it to the schedule for this years show. The new 4-Stroke workshop will replace #4 Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) Technology listed in the recently published NMSE brochure.

This 4-Stroke Outboard Systems and Troubleshooting workshop will be a good mix of theory and hands on. Our concern will be the fuel system (both carb and EFI), ignition system (CDI and computerized, oiling systems, and valve train.

You will learn:

· Carb circuits testing and cleaning
· Practice using the Vacuum Mate to set sink and link
· Enrichment circuits
· Accelerator pump systems
· EFI systems testing and troubleshooting
· CDI systems
· Computerized ignition systems and Sensors
· Practice using the YDS and SDS on the laptop computers.
· How to pull hard codes with the computer and diagnostic light
· How to change timing belts and timing chains
· Learn how the variable timing systems work
· Set valve clearance on valve bucket shims
· Learn how 4-Strokes are lubricated and how to test
