02/06/04 AMTECH endorses Marine Liens database
United State
Marine Liens Ltd., owner of the global maritime-lien database, has been endorsed by the board of directors from the Association of Marine Technicians.
AMTECH members will receive a special discount when they use the www.marineliens.com services. The database allows marine contractors who supply goods and services to check for past liens before starting work, and post new claims of liens on boats for which they have not been paid.
“AMTECH is continually looking for products and services that will be of benefit to it members and we think the instant lien search is a great tool,” Joe De Marco, president of AMTECH, said in a statement.
David Hayward, president of Marine Liens, exhibited his services to AMTECH members at the organization’s recent National Marine Service Expo in Orlando, Fla. He was also a guest speaker at the annual technicians meeting during the Expo and explained the benefits in detail to the attendees.
“The nice part about this service is that you do not need an attorney or a judge to validate a lien because liens are created automatically the moment the work is complete,” Hayward said in a statement. “Liens are attached to the boat and not to the owner, and it remains attached to the boat until the lien is settled.”
